Michelangelo sculptures painting
The weight and solidity of a figure carved in stone or bronze lends it an imposing physical presence.  The apparently ageless permanence of classical sculpture enables it to embody enduring values,  making it the ideal medium for public statements conveying lofty ideals. But how do we react to such works in an age characterised by change, where art is an ephemeral commodity?
